Gigi Jordan, the woman who claimed she poisoned her autistic son to prevent him from being sexually abused, was found guilty of manslaughter Wednesday. The verdict came on the fifth day of jury deliberations after a two-month trial. The jury accepted the claims from Jordan, 53, that she was under “extreme emotional disturbance.” Jordan has said she intends to appeal the ruling. Jordan was a wealthy pharmaceutical entrepreneur and admitted she gave her 8-year-old son a fatal dose of drugs at the Peninsula Hotel in February 2010. She claimed it was merciful as one ex-husband was threatening to kill her and feared another ex-husband, who she believed to be abusive, would get custody.
