Former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock has ascended to the position once held by Grace Kelly as princess of Monaco. She married Prince Albert II in a civil ceremony in the small principality on the Riviera. The ceremony will be followed by a more elaborate religious wedding and gala tomorrow. Albert, 53, has long been considered one of Europe's most eligible bachelors. It is his first marriage, though he admits he fathered two children out of wedlock. Monaco's 7,618 citizens were invited to post-ceremony cocktails in the square, followed by a concert by French composer Jean Michel Jarre.
