On the first full day of a cease-fire negotiated by the U.S. and Russia, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that the five-year conflict has now killed 300,000 people. Among the 301,781 people who were killed since March 2011, some 86,000 were civilians. Of that number, 15,099 were children, said the watchdog group. About 3,645 victims could not be identified.
