The European Union’s election monitor said Thursday that this week’s presidential election in Kenya showed no signs of “centralized or localized manipulation” in the voting. Marietje Schaake, the head of the observer mission in Kenya, said a final report would provide more detail of the vote-counting process, after opposition leader Raila Odinga claimed the election was compromised by hackers. Kenya’s electoral commission has also denied Odinga’s accusations, with Chief Electoral Officer Ezra Chiloba telling reporters officials have “established that the claims being made could not be substantiated.”
