Two people were killed and 18 others injured when a "monster truck" ploughed into a crowd of onlookers at an annual motor show in the Dutch town of Haaksbergen. Video footage showed the modified pickup truck with outsized tires driving over a row of about a half dozen cars as part of the show, then veering off course. The video showed the truck revving hard and then riding over the cars before suddenly heading toward spectators, who were separated from the show by metal barriers. Helicopters helped ferry injured people to hospitals in nearby towns. Police detained the truck driver and launched an investigation.
