The case of a Montana teacher who raped his student gets more tangled by the day. First, Stacey Rambold was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison with all but 31 days of it suspended when a judge made now-notorious comments about the victim (who later committed suicide) having been "older than her chronological age." Then, after an uproar in response to his comments, the judge scheduled a resentencing hearing, noting that the first sentence did not comply with the state's requisite two-year minimum. But on Friday, the State Supreme Court canceled that hearing for violating procedure. An appeal will still be held.
