At least five Saudi nationals studying in Oregon have vanished while facing criminal charges, The Oregonian reported Sunday. These revelations come some three weeks after The Oregonian revealed that a Saudi student charged in a fatal Portland hit-and-run accident fled the United States, apparently with the help of his country. In addition to the alleged hit-and-run driver, Abdulrahman Semeer Noorah, the now-missing students include two alleged rapists and a man accused of keeping child porn on his computer. All of these men were studying in Oregon “with assistance from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” when they were arrested. The Saudi government assisted with hefty bail in four of these five cases. And while little is known about their whereabouts, “some have been traced back to Saudi Arabia,” per The Oregonian.
