More Than 140 Dead in Pakistan Oil Tanker Explosion
More than 140 people were killed Sunday when an oil tanker in Pakistan caught on fire and exploded. The truck had overturned, and a group of people gathered to take some of the fuel that was being leaked. A witness told the BBC that the subsequent explosion was sparked by a cigarette. “One of the passers-by lit the lighter to start a cigarette and the untoward incident which was a minor [one]... turned into a major blast,” Jam Sajjad said. Nearby cars and motorcycles were also destroyed.
