Morsi Trial to Begin Nov. 4

Mohamed Morsi, the man who was ousted from the Egyptian presidency in July, will go on trial starting on November 4, the state news agency reported Wednesday. Morsi has been charged with committing and inciting violence after his ouster in July, when the military stepped in and took charge—and banned Morsi’s party, the Muslim Brotherhood. The U.S. has reportedly also cut aid to Egypt, although a spokesman for the NSA has issued an official denial. Egypt has been in turmoil since Morsi’s ouster in July, with hundreds killed in riots in August.
