After her private fight with management became public.
A MSNBC spokesperson confirmed to CNN that the network is severing ties with host Melissa Harris-Perry. The move comes after Harris-Perry complained about the network's treatment of her program, implying that it was racially motivated. In an email to co-workers obtained by The New York Times, Harris-Perry told her co-workers that she felt "worthless." "I will not be used as a tool for their purposes," wrote Harris-Perry, who is African American. "I am not a token, mammy or little brown bobble head. I am not owned by [NBC executives] or MSNBC. I love our show. I want it back."
