MSU Fires Doctor Accused of Sexually Harassing Gymnasts

The Michigan State University doctor facing multiple accusations of sexual harassment has been fired, the school confirmed on Tuesday. Dr. Larry Nassar most recently came into the spotlight when a former U.S. Oympic gymnast filed a suit against him claiming he molested her during private visits, and the school said Tuesday that it had received “multiple” new allegations since that case emerged. Ingham County prosecutor Gretchen Whitmer also indicated that a “handful” of people stepped forward to say they’d been abused in similar fashion to the stories outlined by the ex-Olympian and a fellow gymnast in various interviews with the press.
