Egypt’s ousted president Hosni Mubarak only received a life sentence three days ago, but reports of the ex-dictator’s deteriorating health suggest he may not be in prison for much longer. An anonymous official at Cairo’s Torah prison told The Associated Press that Mubarak had collapsed several times since being placed behind bars and has been given a ventilator to help him breathe. Authorities denied Mubarak’s requests to have personal doctors oversee him in jail, though they consented to transfer his son Gamal, also in prison, to a cell nearby.
