The stress of legal charges has taken a toll on the health of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his wife Suzanne, who is believed to have suffered a likely heart attack after learning she would be detained on corruption charges along with her husband. Hosni Mubarak also had a suspected heart attack when he was first questioned back in April. His wife tended to him constantly since he was admitted to a Cairo hospital roughly a month ago, where he is currently receiving treatment while under arrest. But now she, too, is in intensive care at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. Hosni Mubarak's detention was extended for another 15 days on Friday morning—which is the initial detention period Suzanne Mubarak received before she fell ill.
