Mueller Asks for 60-Day Delay on Filing Rick Gates Report

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has asked for a 60-day delay in filing his report on Rick Gates, CNBC reports Friday. The court filing, submitted by both Mueller and Gates’ attorney, notes that the former Trump campaign official “continues to cooperate with respect to several ongoing investigations.” Both Gates and Manafort had initially been charged with a litany of crimes including money laundering and misleading investigators—but last February Gates flipped on his former associates and began cooperating with federal prosecutors, later playing a pivotal role when he testified against Manafort in a Virginia court. The filing comes just days after Gates’ former associate Paul Manafort received his final sentence in connection with Mueller’s charges.
