One sheriff’s deputy was killed Sunday and four others injured after a shooting outside of Denver, authorities said. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office had initially reported “multiple deputies down” following the incident at an apartment complex in Highlands Ranch, which occurred while police were responding to a domestic disturbance call. The sheriff’s office later confirmed the death of one deputy on its official Twitter account and said five deputies total had been shot. Two civilians were also shot but no further details were available on their condition. The suspect was shot and “believed to be dead,” police said.
