Murder Charges Filed Against Durst

Los Angeles prosecutors filed a murder charge against real-estate scion Robert Durst on Monday in the 2000 killing of his friend Susan Berman. The 71-year-old was arrested in New Orleans over the weekend, the day before HBO documentary The Jinx aired its final episode catching Durst speaking to himself on microphone, saying “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.” The charges accuse Durst of lying in wait and killing a witness, which could result in the death penalty. The documentary filmmakers also said Monday they did not strike any deal with law-enforcement authorities to hold off on arresting Durst to coincide with the final episode.
