Three Texas police officers were wounded on Friday after cornering a murder suspect at a Laredo convenience store. The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Antonio Geraldo Rodriguez, was killed in the ensuing shootout after firing at police officers, authorities said. Police had been searching for Rodriguez all day Friday on suspicion of fatally shooting his girlfriend. The gun battle occurred Friday evening when they spotted his vehicle outside a convenience store and approached him. The three wounded police officers are being treated at local hospitals, with one in critical but stable condition and the other two in serious but stable condition. Rodriguez was taken to a hospital but died of his injuries.
