A celebrity benefit album is raising millions for Haiti and breaking digital download records. The Hope for Haiti Now album, a compilation of tracks from last week's benefit show, which included Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and Coldplay, has raised over $3 million for the shattered country. Hope for Haiti Now also became the first digital-only album to debut at No. 1 on the SoundScan charts. The pre-order for the album, released a day before the telethon, was the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history, and only a week after its release, the album has been bought and downloaded more than 170,000 times, with nearly all business coming from the iTunes store.
