MySpace 'Surrenders' to Facebook

If you can’t beat them, join then: MySpace and Facebook announced that they’re integrating more features. MySpace users will be able to log into their accounts through Facebook Connect, MySpace will collect profile information to help with advertising, and your Facebook stream will appear on your MySpace profile. In case you had any questions about who’s assimilating whom here, MySpace sent CEO Mike Jones to the announcement, while Facebook is designed only to send Vice President Dan Rose. MySpace is reportedly a little more than embarrassed that Facebook didn't send someone more senior. TechCruch’s Michael Arrington has called the get-together a “formal surrender ceremony.”
