On Wednesday, North Carolina lawmakers passed a bill that will force women seeking abortions to talk to a doctor 72 hours before the procedure, unless there is a medical emergency. Republican Gov. Pat McCrory said he was pleased with the progress in passing the bill and plans to sign it. Missouri, South Dakota and Utah also impose the 72-hour wait period.
