North Korea has pulled back its invitation for a senior U.S. diplomat to come to Pyongyang to negotiate the release of American missionary Kenneth Bae. A State Department official expressed disappointment at the announcement Sunday, adding that North Korea said "in May 2013 it would not use the fate of Bae as a political bargaining chip." Rev. Jesse Jackson has also offered to go to North Korea to help negotiate the release of Bae, who has been in the Hermit Kingdom for more than a year and is serving a 15-year sentence on charges of trying to overthrow the state.
