Nadal Out at Australian Open

Rafael Nadal will have to wait to hold all four Grand Slam trophies at once: He is out at the Australian Open after losing to David Ferrer in three straight sets in Wednesday’s quarterfinal. That ends Nadal’s hopes at four straight Grand Slam tournament wins. He was battling an apparent leg injury, and he withdrew from last year’s Australian Open as well after hurting his knee. Ferrer will go on to face Andrew Murray in the semifinals. Roger Federer will play Novak Djokovic in the other semifinal match.
