Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said on Sunday that federal prosecutors outlined “impeachable offenses” against President Donald Trump on Friday. “Whether they are important enough to justify impeachment is a different question, but certainly they’d be impeachable offenses because even though they were committed before the president became president, they were committed in service of fraudulently obtaining the office,” Nadler said on CNN’s State of the Union. Nadler was referring to documents disclosed by prosecutors in the Southern District of New York which accuse Trump of directing his longtime lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen to commit campaign-finance violations.
