Tragic news reaches us: It seems Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom won’t be naked paddle-boarding again this summer.

The singer, 32, and actor, 40, whose relationship hit the headlines after they were photographed together on an Italian holiday in which a chillaxed Bloom was pictured letting it all hang out, have split up after a year together, their representatives have confirmed to Us Weekly.

“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” their reps told the magazine in a statement.

This is Hollywood PR code for “We’re done.”

The couple appear to have waited for the end of the busy awards season to announce the end of their relationship—which is perhaps a neat completion of the circle as they first got together at a Golden Globes afterparty in January 2016.

The news comes as something of a surprise not so much because Perry was spotted out and about with Bloom at two Oscar parties on Sunday night, but because just Tuesday, love appeared to be very much in the air after Bloom took to Instagram to share a selfie with Perry’s dog, Butters.

"A mighty heart," he captioned the snap, which, we assume, was not intended as a ransom pic to get his stuff back.

However, according to onlookers at the Vanity Fair party this weekend, although the pair arrived together, they didn’t spend much time in each other’s company.

“Katy didn’t spend much time with Orlando,” an onlooker told People magazine. “They got together for a photo, but that was about it.”

The day before, Bloom was at the Independent Spirit Awards solo.

Perry, 32, who was married to British stand up comic Russell Brand from October 2010 to July 2012 and Bloom, 40, who has a 5-year-old son, Flynn, from his marriage to supermodel Miranda Kerr, didn’t always seem to have the smoothest of relationships.

In May, just weeks after walking the Met Ball red-carpet with Perry, Bloom was caught making out with Justin Bieber’s ex, Selena Gomez, in a Vegas club.

Rumors of a secret attraction between Gomez and Bloom are said to be behind the infamous Ibiza bar fight between Bloom and Justin Bieber, who was dating Gomez at the time.

However, Perry stood by her man, and surprised her boyfriend with a star-studded 40th-birthday party in Palm Springs.

The Perry-Bloom love affair continued to blossom, and in August last year Bloom was pictured kneeling naked on a paddle board he was propelling across the Mediterranean on which his bikini-clad paramour was seated before him in serene splendor.

Perry and Bloom were pictured wearing matching pajamas at Thanksgiving and days before Christmas, on Dec. 20, the couple dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus for a visit to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where they sang carols, handed out gifts, and posed with patients for photos.

It was true love indeed.

Although Perry told Women’s Wear Daily: “My boyfriend lives in Malibu, and getting used to that [drive] was like, ‘Are you kidding me? What kind of life is this?’”
