President Trump accepted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) invitation to deliver a State of the Union address on February 4, 2020, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley told reporters on Friday. The invitation comes just days after the House of Representatives voted to impeach the president for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. In the letter sent Friday, Pelosi invited Trump to deliver his address in the House chamber “in the spirit of respecting our Constitution.” Trump is now the third-ever U.S. president to be impeached.
