House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will remain in charge of the Democratic Caucus in the 113th Congress. Today’s announcement ends a week of speculation regarding her future. Minority Whip Steny Hoyer and Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn are keeping their positions as well. Pelosi said that the reason she was staying was to help guide the new caucus, which has a majority of non-white men for the first time ever, something Pelosi called “historic.” Meanwhile, the Senate Republicans reelected Mitch McConnell as their leader, an aide said.
