Nancy Sinatra Sr., Frank Sinatra’s first wife and the mother of his three children, has passed away at age 101. Her daughter, singer Nancy Sinatra, announced the news late Friday in a tweet honoring her mother as “a blessing and the light of my life.” Born Nancy Barbato in Jersey City in 1917, she married the famous crooner in 1939 before his affair with actress Ava Gardner led to their divorce in 1951. The pair reportedly stayed close until Frank’s death in 1998. Nancy Sr. went on to lead a quiet life in Beverly Hills, where she kept busy with charity work.
