NASCAR's Bayne Diagnosed With MS

The youngest driver to win the Daytona 500 in NASCAR history has just been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a disease that affects the nervous system causing limb numbness and loss of vision. Trevor Bayne won says he still plans to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship next year and the 22-year-old driver has been cleared by doctors to compete. Despite the chronic nature of the disease, Bayne says he feels good and "in the best shape I've ever been in." MS does not have a cure, but the disease can be slowed with treatment and most people affected have average life expectancy.
