The journalist who uncovered Natalie Harp’s now-deleted X account and the numerous stunning posts she made on Jan. 6, 2021, has issued a searing verdict.
A CNN report found that before Harp became President Donald Trump’s most devoted aide, she was an online warrior defending the bloody siege on the Capitol in January 2021, when rioters attempted to overturn the results of the U.S. presidential election.
Harp shared more than 150 posts that day, galvanizing the right to “FIGHT FOR TRUMP,” while amplifying the now-president’s baseless claims that the election had been stolen from him.
“These posts offered a public display of fealty,” CNN reporter Isabel Chapman, who co-reported the story with Andrew Kaczynski, told CNN News Central.
That day, Harp, then an anchor at far-right One America News Network, referred to the rioters as “patriots” in her posts and declared they would “STOP THE STEAL!”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Harp’s now-removed posts.
These new revelations follow a Daily Beast report that unearthed Harp’s X account, which she opened in 2016 and frequently used to fawn over Trump.
In 2019, for example, Harp compared Trump to a biblical figure. “We all know the story of the Good Samaritan,” she begins, before detailing how, she claims, Trump saved her life.
“But what you don’t know is I was that forgotten person on the side of the road—left to die of medical error and cancer. The Political Establishment passed me by. But @realDonaldTrump didn’t. Meet my Good Samaritan!” she wrote in the 2019 message.
Experts have contested Harp’s claim that legislation passed under Trump allowing people to try non-FDA-approved drugs saved her life, saying the legislation Trump signed in 2018 would not have made the medication available to her because it had already received FDA approval.
Harp also urged Trump to “build that wall!” and, in August 2020, said America is only great because of Trump. “We are living a GREAT AMERICAN STORY—only because you are in it, President @realDonaldTrump!”
In this post, she quoted Philippians 1:3: “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.”
Years later, Harp’s unwavering loyalty to Trump has only intensified. On Thursday, the Daily Beast published Harp’s intimate letters to Trump, in which she gushed over the now-president, declaring that he was “all that matters to me” and that she is “unworthy of him.”
For his part, the 80-year-old president has reportedly rewarded Harp’s loyalty, telling those close to him that she is the only aide who loves him as much as his wife and kids do, according to reporting by The New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathon Swan in Regime Change.
Harp, 35, was one of the few people who accompanied Trump when he fled Air Force One in a catering truck in Turkey, leaving Secretary of State Marco Rubio, staff, and journalists behind as flying decoys while he flew in a secret plane to avoid an apparent Iranian plot to target Air Force One.
Harp was thrust into the spotlight after Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff publicly questioned Trump’s closeness with her, declaring at a rally that Trump would much rather “travel with Natalie” and build a White House ballroom than do his job as president.
