Just hours after the U.S. Justice Department charged the suspected ricin-letter sender, officials at a Navy facility in Arlington, Virginia, received a letter containing a “suspicious substance.” Just a few miles from the Pentagon, the envelope—received at Navy Building #12—contained a “white powder,” alarming enough to push authorities to evacuate the entire building. Roughly 800 people were forced to exit. As of Thursday afternoon, officials announced they were confident that the powder was not toxic, and said the Navy building would soon reopen. Whether the letter is connected to Paul Kevin Curtis’s stunts is unknown.
