Last month, two senior Navy officials and two defense contractors were arrested on corruption charges after Michael Misiewicz, former commandor of the USS Mustin, and John Beliveau II, once NCIS agent of the year, allegedly traded information about ship schedules in exchange for cash, hotel rooms, and female escorts to accompany them to a Lady Gaga concert in Thailand. The Navy claims Glenn Defense Marine, the contractor, used the supplied information about deployments—and an occasional ship redirection to the company's ports—to overcharge the Navy millions of dollars. Three contracts with the contractor have since been terminated.
