Charlotte Hornets forward Jeff Taylor has pleaded guilty in East Lansing, Michigan, to charges of misdemeanor domestic violence and malicious destruction of property. Court documents indicated Taylor and prosecutors agreed on a deal in the case, in which police had responded to an incident at the East Lansing Marriott hotel in September. Taylor said in court that he pushed his girlfriend into a wall at the hotel and the wall was damaged, according to reports. In the deal, a charge of assault and battery against a hotel employee was dropped, the reports said. It was not immediately clear what effect the plea will have on Taylor’s basketball career. The Hornets declined to comment, and an NBA spokesman said the league’s “investigation of the matter is continuing.”
