Embattled Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien is close to a settlement with NBC, TMZ reports, under which he'd walk away with $32.5 million for himself and around $8 million for his show's employees. In exchange, Conan has agreed to stay off TV until the fall season; furthermore, any money O'Brien makes during the rest of his contract period will offset NBC's burden. Finally, it seems likely that the network would retain intellectual-property rights, so that Conan wouldn't be able to bring Triumph the Insult Comic Dog or the Masturbating Bear with him to another gig.
