NBC has bought the exclusive right to flood us ad nauseam with coverage of the Olympics through 2032. The International Olympic Committee announced Thursday that the network dropped a cool $7.75 billion for the right to broadcast the next six games. NBC beat out Disney's ESPN/ABC and News Corp.'s Fox Sports in the bidding wars. Prior to this agreement, NBC had paid $4.4 billion to broadcast the games through 2020. Under this new deal, NBC has acquired broadcast rights across all media platforms including television, Internet, and mobile, from 2021 to 2032.
