NBC Unsure on Carell Replacement
Will decide after season wraps.
Fans of NBC's The Office are itching to find out who will replace departing star Steve Carell. But for the time being, even NBC doesn’t know. While the network will not decide until after the end of season 7, a plan is in place to put the spotlight on other characters in different episodes, highlighting such favorites as Andy (played by Ed Helms), Jim and Pam (John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer) and Darryl (Craig Robinson). Michael Scott's replacement, however, may not necessarily be The Office's next big star. Producers have also been inundated with requests for celebrity guest stars, but will selective in choosing who will walk the halls of the Dunder Mifflin paper company. "You’re looking for someone who can start stories,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter. “Someone whose judgment isn’t necessarily one where when an issue comes up and a boss with a correct judgment would quickly settle it and then you have no episode.”
