It looks as if NBC finally has a hit on its hands. The network’s reality singing competition, The Voice, debuted on a high note Tuesday night with a 5.1 rating in the coveted 18–49 demographic and 11.8 million viewers overall, making it the top-rated major network series premiere since CBS’s Undercover Boss following the 2010 Super Bowl. Produced by reality-TV guru Mark Burnett, The Voice features Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine (of Maroon 5), and Blake Shelton as judges, and bested both ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and a new 90-minute Lady Gaga–themed episode of Glee to become the No. 1 show of the night.
