A Politifact analysis found that North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory recently lied about the reason Bruce Springsteen canceled a show in Greensboro. The Boss nixed his Greensboro Coliseum show after the state passed legislation restricting public bathroom use for transgender individuals and prohibiting local anti-discrimination ordinances. But the governor recently claimed on a radio show that the real reason Springsteen scrapped the show was because he was embarrassed by only selling 8,000 seats—half the venue's capacity. But a quick call to the venue's reps revealed that the legendary rocker had, indeed, sold more than 15,000 tickets and was likely going to play to a sold-out crowd.
