NCAA Allows Help for Homeless Player

The NCAA granted a request to help an incoming Boise State Division I football player who is currently homeless on Wednesday. A touching story published the day before brought attention to Antoine Turner, a former drug runner in New Orleans who has been struggling to get by. Turner is set to arrive in Boise on June 6, but currently has nowhere to stay. The article sparked an outpouring of support for Turner and outrage against NCAA rules that forbid providing assistance to athletes before they begin school, leading the school to petition for an exception that was quickly granted by the association.
