Nearly 600 Charged in Riots

Here comes David Cameron's promised “fight back.” Police say they have charged almost 600 people with violence, disorder, and looting over the London riots. Courts in London, Birmingham, and Manchester have worked through the last two nights trying to process the 1,700 people arrested. A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a 68-year-old man who confronted the rioters. Police are questioning three other suspects regarding three men who were killed after being run over by a car in Birmingham. Some of those arrested are not the usual suspects: An 11-year-old boy and a teenage ballerina have both been charged.
