A federal district judge struck down Nebraska's ban on same-sex marriages on Monday. While U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon said same-sex marriage licenses could be issued on March 9, the state immediately filed an appeal, which will likely delay marriages. "There is a good chance the fate of Nebraska’s gay marriage ban will remain up in the air until late June," according to the Omaha World-Herald, when the Supreme Court is expected to decide the legality of same-sex marriage bans for the entire nation."
