A new development in this week’s most interesting crime story: German investigators say the neo-Nazi gang suspected of 10 murders kept a possible hit list of 88 names. The list includes two members of Parliament and several representatives of Turkish and Muslim organizations. Police are unsure if the gang intended to kill them, but they believe it was a possibility. The number 88 may also be significant, as it is used by neo-Nazis as code for “Heil Hitler” (“H” is the eighth letter in the alphabet).
