Online media stalwart Boing Boing’s publisher Jason Weisberger became the target of neo-Nazi rage this week after posting about a white supremacist planned march on Whitefish, South Dakota. Weisberger quoted from an Anti-Defamation League blog post about neo-Nazi groups attempting to harass and “chase” Jews away from the town after alt-right leader Richard Spencer’s mother posted her negative email exchanges with a purportedly Jewish local realtor. In return, a seemingly neo-Nazi website claiming to be an “extreme parody”—but containing supportive rhetoric and merchandise of the cause—posted about Weisberger being a “Worthless Jew Fuck” who “works for George Soros,” citing his LinkedIn mention of having consulted for Soros Fund Management, LLC. “If I’m going to get picked on for being born Jewish, I might as well be associated with the biggest and baddest Judaic boogeyman around, Mr. George Soros,” Weisberger wrote in a post responding to the purported neo-Nazis. “I do not work for him, however.”
