Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly ordered his ministers to end all meetings with Palestinian counterparts. Netanyahu has put a halt to the meetings in response to what Israel has deemed a "provocative" move by Palestine to join UN agencies (seen as a step toward asking for statehood recognition). Per Netanyahu, cabinet ministers and ministry directors will no longer meet with their Palestinian counterparts; in the past, they have frequently collaborated on environmental and security issues. An exception was granted for the lead peace negotiator, Tzipi Livni.
