At a weekly Cabinet meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that regarding a deal in the works between Iran and other UN Security Council members, Israel “will do everything to thwart a bad and dangerous deal that will cast a dark cloud on the future of the state of Israel and its security.” The staunch opposition to the deal by Netanyahu, and his intent to block it, comes amidst an uproar over his planned speech to the U.S. Congress about Iran that was arranged behind the White House’s back. On Friday, even the pro-Israel group the Anti-Defamation League was urging Netanyahu to cancel the speech.
