Son and lawyer of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani detained.
Iran arrested the son and lawyer of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, who has gained worldwide attention since being sentenced to death by stoning for adulty in 2006. Also detained were two foreign reporters who had attempted to interview her family. Iran has not released the reporters’ names or nationalities, but says they posed as tourists to enter the country. They’re believed to have worked for Bild Zeitung, a German weekly.
