James O’Keefe, the “Acorn pimp” who was arrested Monday, and his accomplices were not trying to wiretap Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu’s phones. Rather, they say they were allegedly trying to disable them to see how her staff would respond. Huh? What exactly does that accomplish? Apparently, conservative constituents complained that anti-health-reform calls were not getting through to Landrieu’s office. O’Keefe and Co. allegedly wanted to see if the staff would respond to broken phones by laughing them off or by expressing concern for the constituents whose calls were not getting through.
