Redheads will finally be represented in emoji form. Unicode’s 2018 release of Emoji 11.0 will have redheads, in addition to a slew of other emojis like flats, a female superhero, toilet paper, a “woozy face” and a mango. Other notable emojis include a scientific test tube, a pirate flag, a magnet, and a lobster. Sen. Angus King (D-ME) celebrated the addition of the lobster emoji on Twitter, thanking Unicode for “recognizing the impact of this critical crustacean, in Maine and across the country.”
