Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is due to appear in court Thursday as his lawyers claim to have evidence to discredit one of his accusers. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice James Burke is expected to rule on whether to dismiss some of the six-count indictment against Weinstein after his lawyers argued that prosecutors withheld evidence, including emails between the movie producer and one of his accusers that Weinstein claims cast doubt on the sexual assault allegations. Sources cited by Page Six on Wednesday said prosecutors have been investigating new documents pertaining to one of the accusers, Lucia Evans, after she appeared to hint in personal writings that her sexual encounter with Weinstein was consensual. Evans is one of three women whose sexual assault allegations are at the center of the case against Weinstein by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.’s office.
