The International Air Transport Association has announced a new minimum luggage size standard, in an effort to give passengers assurance that, as long as their bag adheres to the standard, it will be allowed onboard the plane no matter what. “It’ll reduce fights between gate agents and passengers,” Thomas Windmuller, a vice president of the International Air Transport Association said. The new size is 21.5 inches by 13.5 inches by 7.5 inches, including wheels—which is slightly smaller than the current size American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines currently allow (22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches).
