New Mexico in State of Emergency for Snow

Blizzard roars through eastern part of state.

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez has declared a state of emergency due to a massive snowstorm. The eastern portion of the state is under a blizzard warning, and some areas have reportedly experienced up to 21 inches of snowfall. "This is a dire situation," Martinez said. "We monitored the situation throughout the night and activated the National Guard to assist stranded motorists."
